Making Sure That All is Well

People think about slot machines in that the government thinks about bringing them in, the people vote on them, some companies bid on them, and then ta-da you have slot machines in your state. What they don’t realize is how painstakingly careful the government has to be regarding slot machines so that they are considered safe for everyone to play. 

Case in point is Pennsylvania. The state has recently allowed slot machines to come in, but they had to be very careful about who they let bring them in and how they were protecting their citizens from the parts of it that are not quite so rosy. The House Gaming Oversight Committee is responsible for making sure that the slot machines that are brought in are legal, safe, running well, and that all of the bills passed regarding them should be passed. 

Tom Creighton has a history of voting against slot machines, so he is really the perfect person for the job of looking over the bills. He examines each and every slot machine bill that comes through to ensure that it is done carefully and cautiously and that residents are protected.  

He makes sure that provisions in the slot machines bills are well thought out, and that they take into consideration what the future will hold. For example, they allowed free drinks to be given to slot machine players. The problem with this is that there was no provision for those gamers that are 18 and therefore legal to play, but not 21 and therefore not legal to drink. These are the types of things that he has to watch out for and address before there is a problem.
