They call them "racing machines", but not the slot machines and insist on there is a big difference between these two names. But the critics can't agree with it and assert that the owners of The Lodge at Belmont can give various names to slot machines, but they still have the same characteristics.
The Belmont track (New Hampshire) wishes to add "racing machines" in order to attract more people and as the result to get much profit. But the experts say the track is going to offer to the gamers slot machines and it will be prohibited.
The track answers that they wish to add betting machines and the people will have the opportunity to bet on the results of the usual horse races. They also declare that there is one important difference between these machines: there is a particular outcome which can be influenced.
The owners of the track say that such kind of machines is the absolutely legal method to attract more visitors and raise the profit of the track. They call the mechanisms they offer Instant Racing terminals. But at first sight they look like usual slot machines and it's rather difficult to find the difference. The supporters object that such kind of game is completely legal and this is the same situation when people bet on the live or simulcast races.
